The ABI Winter Workshop includes a walking tour of the show floor of the Buyers Market of American Craft, where hundreds of professional artists and craftspeople are exhibiting and selling their work to galleries and other retailers.  See for yourself how a trade show really operates, up close and personal  –  the booth displays, the incredible presentation, the diversity of handmade work.

Personal Critiques

ABI Director Carolyn Edlund

Is your line ready for the marketplace?  Is your collection priced appropriately?  Get honest feedback on where you stand and how you can improve and move your own business forward. Workshop participants are invited to bring samples and/or photos of their work to our critique session on Sunday, February 17th. Security will be provided. Gallery buyers and ABI faculty members will review your collection, and give you written critiques, answering critical questions about your work and your potential. This part of the workshop is optional, but has proven to be one of our most popular sessions. Every participant will have the opportunity to be critiqued.

COST OF ATTENDING THE WINTER WORKSHOP IS $250.00 PER PERSON

Transportation and lodging are not included. We will be happy to recommend nearby hotels for you.

SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE

One Scholarship will be made available for the cost of the workshop (not including lodging and travel) for an artist who has suffered loss of income, studio space or ability to work due to Hurricane Sandy. Is that you? Interested individuals may apply for our scholarship here.
