Leicester Artists Show off Their Work at HandMade in America

August 16, 2011

Come to Leicester 6th Annual Studio Tour Exhibits a Preview in Downtown Asheville

HandMade in America is proud to present artists of the Leicester Studio Tour in the first exhibit in their downtown office. Come see a variety of mediums and styles of artwork in the HandMade in America Gallery on the corner of Hilliard and Church Street in the Lexington Station Mixed-Use building Monday –Thursday from 9-5, through August 26.

The Leicester Artists participated in a HandMade in America Craft Lab, taught by Executive Director, Gwynne Rukenbrod in June where they discussed “How to Engage a Visitor in Your Studio.” Twenty-eight participants in the workshop brought a piece of artwork for advice as to how to display their work in an appealing and thoughtful way.  The participants of the Craft Lab were then invited to apply the skills they learned to display their art in an exhibition at HandMade in America as a preview for their annual studio tour.

The 6th Annual Leicester Studio Tour is a self-guided tour, which is taking place August 20-21 from 10am – 6pm.  For a map of the tour and more information about artists in Leicester, visit their web site cometoleicester.com.
